The Next Step In Water Usage Restrictions
Next Thursday, May 16, 2013 the City of Corpus Christi will impose level 3 water usage restrictions to residential and commercial users. Being inside that group Corpus Christi Country Club will have to further curtail our water program. For the last two seasons we on our own undertaking ceased watering the roughs on the course as well as stopped wide area pre-emergent applications instead only doing the first 10 passes from the fairway. The 16th brings us to only watering Tees and Greens, no more watering of fairways for the forseeable future at least until August when we should be tied into the city effluent water system. One should know that we are beginning to enter the hottest driest part of our yearly weather pattern in the coastal bend. It has been nice this year though as we have still been receiving rain producing low pressure systems and cool fronts even into May which is very uncommon. Last year we had 90's in February. We've barely made 90 so far this season, I'm hoping this cooler weather and the occasional rainy day keep coming until we get hooked up to the effluent in August. Stay tuned for some pictures and updates as we progress through this next stage. If you don't have any issues with rainfall or water sources where you are remember you are lucky, and that somewhere there are guys that aren't. Count yourself as lucky it could be your course next season.
